
Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Karadağ, MD
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Karadağ, born in 1984 in Konya, graduated third from Konya Karatay Anatolian High School. She entered Konya Selçuk University’s Meram Faculty of Medicine in 2002. During her final year at medical school, she completed a surgical internship at Ghent University in Belgium, where she actively participated in surgeries. After graduating in 2008, she began her residency in Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at the same faculty. During her residency, she attended numerous national and international congresses and presented her scientific studies.
In 2013, she won a TUBITAK scholarship and worked for one year as a “Clinical Research Fellow” at the Mayo Clinic, a world-renowned medical institution in the United States, in the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, where she also participated in aesthetic surgeries.
During her time in the U.S., Dr. Karadağ conducted numerous scientific studies. One of her clinical studies, titled “Mastectomy Skin Flap Necrosis Following Skin Sparing Mastectomy and Immediate Reconstruction: A Risk Factor Analysis”, was presented at the Best Paper Panel at the Chang Gung – Mayo Clinic Symposium in Reconstructive Surgery held in Taiwan in 2014. After receiving training at Mayo Clinic’s Microvascular Surgery Training Center, she passed the exam with a high rank and obtained her ‘Microsurgery Certificate’.
Upon returning to Turkey, she completed her experimental thesis titled “Investigation of the Effect of Melatonin on Burn Wound Healing in Pinealectomized Rats” and became a Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist.
In 2016 and 2019, she successfully passed the written and oral parts of the proficiency exam organized by the European Association of Plastic Surgeons in Brussels, earning the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) certification.
After completing her mandatory service at Konya Numune Hospital between 2014 and 2016, she began working as a Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist at Acıbadem Kozyatağı Hospital and Acıbadem Ataşehir Medical Center in 2016. In 2017, she became an Assistant Professor at Acıbadem University. From that year until September 2022, she also worked as a Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital. During these years, she was the responsible physician for aesthetic stem cell procedures at the Stem Cell Center of Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital and also served as the responsible physician for the hospital’s Hair Transplantation Center.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karadağ has published scientific articles in both national and international journals. Her studies on breast aesthetics and stem cell applications have been published in high-index international journals, making significant contributions to the global literature.
In October 2022, Dr. Karadağ earned the title of Associate Professor. Since December 2022, she has continued providing non-surgical medical aesthetic treatments and consultations at her private practice on Baghdad Street. Dr. Karadağ specializes in breast aesthetics, abdominal aesthetics, and facial aesthetics, and she also performs stem cell applications for aesthetic purposes in her practice.
She is an active member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS), the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, the EPCD (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society), the RMCD (Reconstructive Microsurgery Society), and the Istanbul Medical Chamber.
