Men and women at least 18 years of age, who have no unfavorable medical condition in terms of the procedure, who suffer from hair loss due to various reasons (androgenetic alopecia, scarring, etc.) or those unsatisfied with their existing hairline, are suitable candidates for hair transplantation.
The use of vitamin C should be discontinued one week before the hair transplant operation. Consumption of alcohol, coffee, blood thinners and salt should be stopped 4 to 5 days before the operation.
On the morning of the operation, you should come to the hospital after having a light breakfast and preferring a wide-collar clothes or clothes that can be unbuttoned in the front.
THE FUE TECHNIQUE: In this technique, hair follicles are taken one by one by from the donor area by means of a micro motor, and then they are planted into the the recipient area. Since this technique involves a minimally invasive intervention in the donor area, it requires a very short recovery time and leaves no scar.
DHI TECHNIQUE (Direct Hair Implant): In this technique, the hair follicles taken are planted one by one into the recipient area with the help of a pen (implanter). The advantages of this technique are that it provides the opportunity of unshaved hair transplant, and minimizes the risk of postoperative facial swelling since it does not require expansion process (with saline solution) in the operation area,
one in the form of thin strands. It may take 10 to 12 months for the regrowth of all transplanted hair follicles.
The head should not be bent forward for the first three postoperative days. The patient should rest in the supine position so that the liquid injected into the operation area does reach the face. It is of great importance to protect the treated area from any bumps or frictions in the first seven postoperative days. It is recommended to use a neck pillow to prevent the transplant area from contacting the bed, pillow and seat when lying down.
Intense sports and places such as sauna, solarium and swimming pool are prohibited in the first three months after the operation.
Ten days after the operation, the scabs should be completely cleared from the transplant area, and the entire scalp should be massaged several times a day. It is normal to observe acne in the first 3 to 4 months after the operation and the patient is likely to feel hardness in the tissue during this period.
One week after the procedure, the transplanted hair starts falling out and this lasts for a period of one month. After about two months, the transplanted hair starts growing one by one in the form of thin strands. It may take 10 to 12 months for the regrowth of all transplanted hair follicles.
